  • have a European pet passport;
  • identified, only the chip allowed. since July 3, 2011 The chip must be inserted before the rabies vaccination is given;
  • The animals must be vaccinated against rabies (rabies) at least 21 days before the trip;
Some European countries have additional rules, such as a mandatory character or flea treatment or the prohibition of certain varieties. Besides that, there are different rules in animals less than three months old. Countries outside the EU have quite different rules. For all your questions you can to your veterinarian or the embassy of your holiday visit.

Travelling by car

Cats often have trouble with a long drive and a strange environment. Dogs can usually be fine with you on holiday. In general pets can suffer from illness or stress during a long car ride. A tip that i want to give is:  Try to get your animal used to the car before you leave. This will bring you in a better situation. Besides that you can provide a safe place, such as a bench or a basket. Your vet can give you a sedative if the above tips does not work.

Things you have to check/arrange before you leave

  • Ask at the holiday address or animals are allowed;
  • Chip your pet before you leave;
  • Attach a tube address with your holiday address to the collar
